Ouchy today
I hate exercising just for the sake of exercising. Hate it. It seems pointless even though I know it's good for me and will help my weight loss efforts. And God knows I have a lot of weight to lose! I'm an intelligent woman and I know all the benefits of exercise but I gotta tell ya, that does nothing to motivate me.
So being the very task oriented person that I am, I figured if I registered for an event, such as a one mile walk, I would have something to "train" for and that would motivate me. That and the fact that I'm not going to piss away the registration fee by not showing up and if I show up, I'm damn well going to walk and I don't want to finish last.
Which is why I'm ouchy today. I did the one mile Shakespeare Shuffle walk in under 20 mintues earlier this month. No problem. So I got cocky and registered for the 5K Tour de Foot and I have about a week left to get ready for it. And totally overdid it last night. Everything from my waist down hurts today.
The only thing making me feel remotely better is the fact that I'm down another pound this week!
